The difference between aluminum foil and tin foil

We can often use aluminum foil and tinfoil in our daily life. They each have their own characteristics, but most people don’t know much about these two kinds of paper. So what is the difference between aluminum foil and tinfoil?

I.  What is the difference between aluminum foil and tin foil?
1. The melting point and boiling point are different. The melting point of aluminum foil is usually higher than that of tinfoil. We will use it for baking food. The melting point of aluminum foil is 660 degrees Celsius and the boiling point is 2327 degrees Celsius, while the melting point of tin foil is 231.89 degrees Celsius and the boiling point is 2260 degrees Celsius.
2. The appearance is different. From the outside, the aluminum foil paper is a silver-white light metal, while the tin foil is a silver metal that looks a little blue.
3. The resistance is different. Aluminum foil paper will be corroded in humid air to form a metal oxide film, while tin foil has good corrosion resistance.

II.  What are the precautions for using tin foil?
1. Tinfoil is usually used when making barbecues at home. It can be used to wrap food for grilling, steaming or baking.
2. Its thickness is usually less than 0.2 mm, and it has excellent thermal conductivity and high temperature resistance. Using it to wrap food heats up faster, and can avoid burning. The cooked food is also very delicious, and it can also prevent oil stains from sticking to the oven.
3. One side of the tin foil is shiny, and the other side is matte, because the matte does not reflect much light and absorbs a lot of heat to the outside, so usually we will use the matte side to wrap the food, and put the shiny side Put it on the outside, if it is reversed, it may cause the food to stick to the foil.
