The difference between PE and PP bags

Different materials, PE: polyethylene, PP: polypropylene

PP is a stretchable polypropylene plastic, which is a kind of thermoplastic. PP bags are actually plastic bags. The characteristics of PP bags are non-toxic and tasteless. The surface of PP bag is smooth and transparent, and it is widely used in the packaging of cosmetics, food, toys, clothing, stationery, electronics, hardware products and other industries. The color of the PP bag is transparent, good quality, good toughness, stronger, and can’t be scratched. The processing cost of PP bags is very cheap, and the characteristics are: easy to burn, the flame is molten and dripping, the upper is yellow and the lower is blue, after leaving the fire, there is less smoke and the burning continues.

PE is the abbreviation of polyethylene, which is a kind of thermoplastic resin made by polymerization of ethylene. Polyethylene is odorless, non-toxic, feels like wax, has excellent low temperature resistance (the lowest temperature can reach -70~-100℃), has good chemical stability, and can withstand most acids and alkalis (not resistant to oxidizing properties) Acid), insoluble in general solvents at room temperature, low water absorption, excellent electrical insulation properties; but polyethylene is very sensitive to environmental stress (chemical and mechanical effects), and has poor heat aging resistance. The properties of polyethylene vary from species to species, mainly depending on the molecular structure and density. Different production methods can be used to obtain products with different densities (0.91~0.96g/cm3). In addition, the plastic wrap of PE material can also be called a PE bag. Note that the plastic wrap that comes into direct contact with food must be made of PE material, which is safer for the human body.
