What is a plastic color scheme?

Plastic color matching is based on the three basic colors of red, yellow and blue, to match the color that is popular, meets the color difference requirements of the color card, is economical, and does not change color during processing and use. In addition, plastic coloring can also impart various functions to plastics, such as improving light resistance and weather resistance of plastics; giving plastics some special functions, such as electrical conductivity and antistatic properties; different colored agricultural mulch films have the functions of weeding or insect repellency and seedling raising. That is to say, it can also meet certain application requirements through color matching.

Because the color is very sensitive to the plastic processing conditions, a certain factor in the plastic processing process is different, such as the selected raw materials, toner, machinery, molding parameters and personnel operations, etc., there will be color differences. Therefore, color matching is a very practical profession. Usually, we should pay attention to the summary and accumulation of experience, and then combine the professional theory of plastic color matching to quickly improve the color matching technology.
If you want to complete color matching well, you must first understand the principle of color generation and color matching, and based on this, you can have a deeper understanding of the systematic knowledge of plastic color matching.
At the end of the 17th century, Newton proved that color does not exist in the object itself, but is the result of the action of light. Newton refracts sunlight through a prism and then projects it on a white screen, which will show a beautiful spectral color band like a rainbow (seven colors of red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple). Long and short light waves on the visible spectrum combine to form white light.

So, color is part of light and is made up of electromagnetic waves of many different lengths. When light waves are projected on an object, the object transmits, absorbs or reflects different parts of the light waves. When these reflected waves of different lengths stimulate people’s eyes, they will produce different colors in the human brain, and that’s how colors come.

The so-called color matching is to rely on the theoretical basis of the three primary colors, and apply the techniques of additive color, subtractive color, color matching, complementary color and achromatic color to prepare any specified color required by the product.
